In this class you will be introduced to a Gammill Longarm Quilting Machine.  Emphasis will be on learning the necessary techniques to complete a quilt by yourself. The class will focus on teaching you how to prep, load, choose batting, correct starting and stopping, threading the machine, and bobbin winding.  Students will learn how to set up and run a pantograph. 

The goal of this class is that students will leave with the knowledge needed to run the machine without supervision.

This class focuses on the basi tools, threads. new products and techniques, as well as some of the "Quilters Must Have Stuff" that will aid you in the daily runnimg of a longarm business and/or home use for your new longarm.  This class is for those truly interested in the methods needed to help improve skills.

This is a lecture as well as a hands on class.

This class will introduce you to rulers, templates, laser work, pantographs, no-mark methods, SID and free-hand designs.  You will be able to try different templates and rulers to help you in deciding what will work best for you. This is a hands-on class, one student per Gammill machine head. 

You are asked to provide a simple 9-patch quilt top (instructions provided at time of sign-up), backing, and cotton batting at least 4 inches larger than your quilt top.

Afraid of free hand?  Then this is the class you have been waiting for.  You will learn how to use your longarm for more than just SID, laser work and pantographs.  In this hands-on class we will explore several freehand designs and techniques including, but not limited to, feathers, background fills, mazes, leaves, flowers, faux trapunto and "zentangle" designs.  You will also experiment with different battings and threads.

We will break for lunch.

Supply List:  Sampler Top (Instructions will be provided), cotton batting and backing material at least 4 inches larger than your quilt top.  Everything else will be provided.
